Had a great time learning how to facilitate online. The COVID pandemic has hastened our adaptations to online teaching.  ZOOM is my current favourite and the latest update has many new features.  

Personal Schedule.

Just read about a new way to schedule.

How to schedule our priorities according to vision, purpose, life roles, and life goals?

At the beginning of the week list out the activities according to the above priorities. These activities may be related to business, personal, family and other important areas.

Then place them accordingly in a workable schedule for the week according to need and or previous neglect.

Interestingly I have never done a schedule according to life goals. Will give it a good try next week.

Life is like juggling crystal balls and rubber balls, and success depends on knowing which is which. My crystal balls are my religion, my faith, my work in this country. Everything else is a rubber ball where you can let it drop, wait for a week or month, and let it bounce back. Life is about choices and balance. A crystal ball cannot be allowed to drop or else it breaks.

Powerful Presentations

Bring out the emotional appeal by showing the following one can obtain:-

1. Money

2. Self preservation, security, safety

3. Recognition

4. New experience, the future, romance

Create good videos

1. Less than 3 minutes duration 

2. Sound is important 

3. Photos or videos to include 

4. Voiceovers plus or without

5. Tell an emotional story

First impressions on what we are presenting has to do with (or include) the

1. Story - success, failure, fun, legends

2. Simile

3. Analogy

4. Metaphor

5. Examples

Get the WOW statement by doing some research. Get ideas and phrases from

1. Images

2. Website: readersdigest.com

3. Movie critics

WOW statement should

Not be more than 3 sentences.

Not be more than 30 seconds. 

Use visual language. 

Develop 2-3 statements in case the first fails. 

Storytelling

The 4 I's. Create an interesting story which is intructive or educational. The person watching needs to be involved in the story which he or she is able to relate to. The ending should inspire a person to action.

Old Website using Joomla (CMS)

 

Old website created using Joomla platform was rather difficult to maintain with its frequent updates.  Shifted to a simpler platform - WIX with most of the features I needed.

The Covid pandemic has certainly made the performing arts planners creative.  Picture above shows a musical presentation inside a shophouse whilst the audience is seated at the 5 foot way.
