Get Well message
This Get Well message was made using Canva. Several steps involved. First to choose the background picture. Selected a picture with many fruits as fruits are usually given when visiting ill persons. Second comes the message and choosing the fonts and colours to go with it. Then needed to frame the words with some added transparency. The signature came with a new tool just available in Canva. Finally took some time to select an appropriate bible verse to go with the message. Chose John 14:21. Hope you like it!

Ways to Record a Video
Three factors to consider on making a video: 1. Topic, 2 Budget, 3. Skills
1. Talking Head
The talking head is one of the simplest lecture recording styles. All you need is you, a camera and a microphone.PROS: A strong emotional connection with the audience.
CONS: Lack of visual elements to illustrate ideas.
CONS: Lack of visual elements to illustrate ideas.
2. White Board - physical
PROS: Feels more authentic. Confidence on camera and can draw.CONS: Every time we write things get a bit more complex. Hard to light evenly, as they are quite reflective. Eye contact loss when writing on a whiteboard. Need to be pretty good writing and drawing on the fly.
3. Paper Easel
The pros and cons of this method are almost identical to the whiteboard style, except paper is a lot less reflective and therefore easier to light.
4. Flat Screen (LED)
Use a remote clicker to advance the slides.PROS: Greater perceived value. The ideal style for tech-savvy audiences.
CONS: Need to invest in a large flat screen TV. Need to prepare all the slides in advance.
5. Voice Over & Slides
Purely slide-only presentation. Main choice for webinars or live presentations over the web.PROS: No camera or studio required. Perfect if you are camera shy.
CONS: Less emotional engagement. More work to put together as the slides need to compensate for the lack of visual engagement derived from having a talking head.
6. Tablet
Khan Academy style.PROS: Appealing look of an old fashion chalkboard.
CONS: Need great calligraphy and drawing ability. Learn how to draw on a tablet. You need a great voice.
7. Webcam & Slides
You can show your face when you need to address your audience and you can create beautiful slides and animations to illustrate even the most complex ideas.PROS: Combine slides and talking head to achieve better engagement and illustrate harder points.
CONS: Need to prepare the slides in advance and it requires a bit more video editing.
8. Screencast
This is the best recording style option for showing how software or a website works.PROS: The easiest way to record a lecture. No need to prepare slides.
CONS: Can't see your face which needs to be compensated with a good energetic and engaging voice.
Mix Styles?
Start and end lectures using talking head only and switch to slides only for the main content.Switching from a paper easel to a flat screen TV, to a wall and to a whiteboard.
Talking head and add some graphics and text to spice up the video and make it more engaging.
Whatever style you choose, make sure it fits both your budget and most importantly, your brand.

Had gastroscope and colonoscope today as a day case.
Preparation for the procedure started on Friday. Did the required blood tests and RTK COVID test in the early morning.
Did not take any solid food for the day till the time of scopes the next morning. Bowel preparation started at 4 pm with Casen Phospho Soda oral solution mixed with a full glass of water. Followed by 1 sachet of Fortrans in 1 litre of water to be drunk over 1 1/2 hours. After the first, another sachet of Fortrans in another 1 litre of water was drunk. The whole 2 litres were drank up by 8 pm. Very soon after the 4 pm the "purge" began. Was pretty happy with the results as the bowel lavage content was becoming much clearer denoting good large bowel clearance.
The up and down scopes were done by Dr Yeap with ease. I was given an injection of Dormicum 3 mg before the procedure as a mild sedative.
Before the colonoscope one has to wear a trouser with a fair sized hole showing the peri-anal area. One can continue to wear one's own shirt or T shirt.
I shall review the video recordings of the procedures tonight.
Gastroscopy and colonoscopy procedures are pretty easily performed nowadays without much discomfort.

Perak Chest Society AGM 2020
Presided our first AGM virtually. It was easy and convenient to meet in the cloud. The audio visual was good. Used ZOOM platform. Was able to share screen and even annotate on the slides. We were using the free version and was cut off after about 45 minutes into the meeting. We restarted the meeting by sending another meeting link from ZOOM. Not much of a hassle in reconnecting. But best is to buy a license.
ZOOM seems to be easier to use than Skype. Can also schedule a ZOOM meeting via Microsoft Outlook.

Your Phone app from Microsoft
Just got my Samsung Note 8 connected to my notebook using the Your Phone app from Microsoft. Limited use. Can only view recent photos (25 in number), phone text messages and phone notifications.
The mobile photos can be easily moved to my notebook. Simply Copy and Paste.
Give it a try.
However I prefer new DeX feature available from Samsung Note 10. A feature a just discovered from YouTube and from the Samsung website. Wonder when I can afford a new Note 10!!
