Early morning garden walk well rewarded. Harvested the fruits well before the real birds woke up and ate them. 

Fig plants are easy to grow and maintain.  Hardly any insect attack. Need to fertilise them often and prune them low for easy fruit harvesting. 

Cartoon Inspiraton

 Got inspired after visiting LAT Home Gallery.  I was thoroughly thrilled when I saw all the smiling faces from the visitors to the gallery.  

There is this feeling of delight and youthfulness when one is in a world of cartoons. Cartoon strips can depict scenes which are out of the ordinary, even fantasy scenes.  

So, why not join in the fun by drawing a few cartoons ourselves!!  Especially so when we can draw digitally.  Mistakes can be just erased.  No wastage of paper.  Try it out and remember to post for all to see. 

My Garden ~ Birds

Created this photos with Microsoft Designer.  Canva now has a competitor.  

Relatively simple to use MS Designer. It also has AI capabilities.  

 Using background remover is a breeze!

Tropicana at Jalan Lee Kwee Foh

This former single storey building has now become two after the extensive renovation.  I thought it was going to be an eatery but it turned out to be a koi retail shop!  Fishes not for eating. 

Well designed and renovated with high insulated metal roof decks. 

The high side cladding allows light into the fish ponds and advert boards to be displayed. 

Good ventilation and lighting.  This place is very clean without any water collection on the floor.  There is even a balcony on the first floor.  The owner will probably admire the koi fish from high above, and from this vantage view is exactly how koi fish should be appreciated. 

The retail store has water pumps and lots of fish food for sale.

Koi fish everywhere.  Small, medium, large and very large!

There are seats for koi enthusiasts to sit whole day just to admire the fish swimming

The very large koi pond behind.  Will dream of this being my lap pool at home!

Just keep on dreaming.  Splash, splash ........

 

Reappearance of the Iconic 2 Wheeler

The Vespa first appeared in 1968 and quickly became a timeless classic. I remembered seeing them when I was young but they were quickly replaced by the likes of Honda and Suzuki motorcycles.  Now they are back! 

Their colours make me young again. I am very keen to reuse my motorbike licence again.  Last rode a motorcycle while I was in University Malaya. Still remember the days going to watch movies with friends downtown in Kuala Lumpur and zooming between PJ Section 17 and varsity!

Trailles for Climbing Plants

Installed this trailles on New Year's day. Really simple with these rust proofed rods and clips. Just clip away the rods at the top then clip others in the middle of the standing rods. Planted beans and passion fruit.  

Lavender

 

Bought this lovely Lavendar plant with purple flowers.  Had no idea how to grow and maintain it.  Wish to share with you what I found out about the plant in the web. Thought I would produce a short video too and here it is.  Really trying out how difficult or easy is to produce a short YouTube video.

Used Corel PaintShopPro to add text to this artwork.  

This flower from my garden was captured with my mobile camera and turned into a digital watercolor painting.  Used the airbrush to blur the picture behind the text so that the yellow text will come out more prominently.

Will use this jpeg image to post to my Christian friends using WhatsApp.

Digital Art

Using Corel programmes to produce the above art in water colour style.  The images are rather astonishing.  Corel is using AI in their "painting" algorithm. 

Will be personalising these pictures with special notes for my patients.  Hope to produce many more artwork with pictures taken from my garden.  

Starting the Year 2021

An early start at 8 am 1/1/2021with my woodworking hobby.  Have been putting off several projects.  Today managed to saw several pieces of wood to strengthen my sofa seats at home.  The wood had been recycled from a partition which was taken down at 15 Clarke Street.  

This wood working bench came from my father.  He too was a woodworking hobbyist.  He used to make toy boats and air planes.  I remember he used balsa wood for the model aircrafts.  

Taman Herba Negeri Perak

I love to grow herbs in my garden.  

I visited Taman Herba Negeri Perak and I am astonished by the number of ornamental plants which also have medicinal value. This park has a large collection of plants which are labelled.

Cardinal tetras during feeding time. Lovely fishes.

A grasshopper which I have not seen for a long time.
