LAT Home Gallery

The LAT Home Gallery is about 30 minutes away from Ipoh by car  It is located next to the Silverlake development in Batu Gajah.  

LAT is the nickname for Dato Mohd. Nor Khalid who is a cartoonist.  He sketches both local village and town  themes with a good mix of humour.  He has a very distinct way of drawing human figures.

The art displays are mainly in black and white.  There are also some figurines.  

A replica of his Kampung House is erected beside the main art gallery. 

A very worthwhile visit to enjoy the showpieces of a local artist, his life history and awards.

ACS Alumni Association Fund Raising Event.

When this video was taken, Friday 4th August 2023, the fund raised by the ACS Alumni Association was more the RM 50k.  The money raised will go towards helping the poor students of ACS Ipoh by way of food coupons and scholarships.

This video exemplified the life of a good and passionate teacher - the late Mr Chin Yoong Kim. 

The drama "Emily of Emerald Hill" followed the citation.

ACS Alumni 128th Anniversary Dinner

Saturday 5th August 2023 was certainly an auspicious day for the ACS Alumni 128th Anniversary Dinner.  The celebration was held at the Rafflesia Ballroom, Riverfront Hotel, Ipoh.  

With my schoolmates who completed Upper Six and left ACS Ipoh in 1975.

With Mr Joe Ong who was the singer musician for the evening. 

With Mr Looi Teck Aun, the Patron of the ACS Alumni Association. 

With Mr Chan See Tian, the current ACS Principal. 

The ACS School Band has 3 accompanying bagpipers.  They simply sound great!

With Mr Lee Kah Meng, Mr Loke Choong Meng and Ms Kwok Pui Leng who were our art, industrial arts and math teacher respectively.  Time to appreciate them once again. 

With Mr Ng Chee Pin our former physics teacher. He is very passionate about teaching and hence no wonder that he is still teaching in KL!

With Mr Ling, former ACS Principal.

 With Datuk Lean Meng Seong, President of the ACS Alumni.  He was instrumental in getting the ACS Foundation started. 

Lung Bulla

 Smokers may have shortness of breath because of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or COPD.  The development of lung bullae in a smoker's emphysematous lungs may worsen breathlessness.

Another new cafe at Ipoh Garden South.  Located at 6 Tingkat Taman Ipoh 11.

Real plant but not for eating. 

Expresso.  Going to be bitter sweet!

A healthy meal to swallow.

Free dessert for being there at the right time. Felt very joyful. 

 

Ninety Guest House and Coffee Bar

90 Guest House and Coffee Bar has just opened its doors recently.  The signboard is not even ready yet!  It is located at 23 Jalan Chua Cheng Bok, 30250 Ipoh. 

Very simple interior. Great for young travelers. 

Inside the coffee bar with young entrepreneurs. 

My plumber is a partner in this F&B venture. 

Looks simple but very tasty. 

A local favorite very well presented.
