Little Katong in Ipoh

Little Katong.  A bit of Singapore in Ipoh.  This brand new eatery is located at Canning Garden, Ipoh.  It has a simple interior design.  Notice the large collection of family photos on the right.

The dining area is large with simple tables and chairs.  The wide glass windows add on the feel of spaciousness.

The cash counter with all the fresh flowers from well wishers during the grand opening.

This single storey, corner bungalow has been extended extensively.

Cakes for all occasions soon.

Hmm.  Bare roof tiles seen.  No ceiling.  No heat insulation?

The entrance with the cashier counter on the right.

Nasi lemak.

The chef's recommendation.  Ipoh Hor Fun.  Simply delicious.

Congratulations to Datuk David Tan.

A photo on where the food was prepared.  I love the openness of the kitchen and cleanliness within.  Perhaps one can get some culinary tips by just watching the chef cooks!

Flower Mulan Nyonya Cafe - Michelin Star 2023

Flower Mulan Nyonya Cafe is located at 268, Jalan Burmah, Pulau Tikus, Penang. At the entrance with people at every corner.  A Michelin Star cafe with pretty good food.

The Chinese decor is superfluous.  Red lanterns all over.

Each dinner table has its own theme.

Countless art pieces.

Mr Mark and John are the flower designers.

Traditional Chinese art.  Not sure where Mulan is.

The best is the food.

And the dishes must go with lots of rice.

The Michelin Award prominently displayed on the wall.
Congratulations to the owner.

Purple Cane Tea House

The Purple Cane Tea House is a branch from Kuala Lumpur.  Has been in Ipoh for the last 14 years and is located at the Perak Chinese Amateur Dramatic Association building.  Jalan Dato Tahwil Azar (Osborne Street) has a canopy cover now.  The "pasar malam" tents are up and business is beginning soon.

Lots of tea products for sale.  Even potted tea sets.  A typical Chinese restaurant set up but no Chinese music in the air though!

Sit on a chair or on a wooden floor depending on your agility.

Hard to go by without a selfie nowadays.  Hehe.

Chicken noodle with a taste of tea.

Tea jelly.

Bak Kut Teh with Tea too!

Pretty good experience for the evening.

Entre at Jalan Lee Kwee Foh

Have always wanted to visit this cafe located at Jalan Lee Kwee Foh, Canning Garden.  It is usually full of people. I am one of the first to arrive at 11.30 this morning after church service at CGMC.  It has been in operation for the last 3 years.

A peep from the bay window where I sat.  Pretty good view of the continuous traffic flow.  The grass is artificial and this is why it is always green even during this hot season.

The cash counter.  Order the pastry and beverage, pay and get a number where one would get the food delivered.  Simple decor with white walls all around.

A selfie before the food arrived.

Espresso.  Delightful cutlery.  Bronze?

Ham and cheese croissant.  Delicious.

Sugar served in style!  Needed it to reduce the bitter coffee.

The first bite.  Too delicious to describe any further.  Will now concentrate on the food!!

To Fukuoka and back in 1 hour

My fastest trip to Japan and back.  The weather was great and met a lot of Malaysians. Can't wait to show you some of my lovely photos.

Street 18 Cafe

Visited this Cafe during the Christmas Season.  Decoration is neat and simple with a rustic theme.

Some nice wall paper of old colonial images.

They specialize in Indian cuisine.

Some tasty pastry at the counter.

The World Cup was on during this time of the year.  The flags of participating countries.

Special nasi lemak.

Wall painting leading to the kitchen.
